This treaty ,signed in 1795 by the United States and many Native American tribes, helped to open up the Northwest Territory. We are proud of our heritage and the role this community played in America’s development.

While in town, take time to visit our historic downtown and browse the wide variety of shops we offer. Our downtown is part of the “Heritage Ohio Main Street” program and offers you a truly unique shopping experience. With a variety of restaurants and coffeehouses, downtown Greenville has something to temp everyone’s taste buds.

If you want to know what activities we have to offer, get ready to mark your calendars. The summer months bring the city’s Municipal Band concert series to the band shell in our beautiful City Park. Enjoy a picnic in the park on a Sunday afternoon and enjoy the band on Sunday evenings. We also invite you to the “Annie Oakley Days” celebration which happens the last full weekend in July. Farm Power of the Past” takes over the fairgrounds for a weekend in July. We are the home of the “Great Darke County Fair” which occurs in August. The fall of the year bring in our annual “Fall Cruise-In” which will bring over 400 classic cars to our downtown. The “Hometown Holiday Horse Parade” rounds out the year and is held in November.
